Gay Paris
Lazy day, with Johnny, the Drummer and Me.
Paul Moody?
Onwards to Italy
It’s inspiring
Special features include service stations
I love a servo, me. Can’t get enough of them. Wonderful.
We wrestled ourselves away from petrol heaven and struck forth for Milan.
Get the readies,
A quick lunch at Giovanni’s,
And down the tube at Republica Square,
Taking the precaution to note the station, of course.
The Station is one of the finest I have ever seen, reminds me of Partick, not in the East End of Glasgow.
Strangely, although it is twinned with Milan, the East End of Glasgow has no underground stations. Bizzare!
Chat on the Tube, Love it!
Overground, the fine Piazzas abound
Stunning shopping, I could shop all day.
The spires, wow, would you look at those spires,
Ah! I was overcome by it all
The night had more thrills in store, A DJ Set in a famous Milan nightclub.
I have to say my Ipod featured rather more than myself on the night but I did spin a couple of “grooves, baby”. ‘Cosmic Dancer’ by T-Rex was my opener. The Lesbians loved it, singing along to every word they were. Don’t care what anyone says, I gauge success on the decks by the response of the lizzies. “Happy Lizzies, Proper Night” is my motto. Swear by it.
Bring it on, Doddy
“reetamongstit”
Time for some Rocket club Gig Art
The night had to end, unfortunately, so it was 3am eternal by the KLF from DJ Yesteryear, thanks Lukas, nice title
And, in case you are wondering, it is possible to have fun without drugs and still look totally mashed.
3am eternal and 3am it was, home to bed.
What a view
Simply stunning
Rusty is stunned by it’s quality
Mesmerised, lost, he is, in it’s unbelievable beauty. Bring on the views.
Today’s Gig Art
The Delilahs, Switzerland’s very best. http://www.thedelilahs.com/
Get them on Myspace at http://www.myspace.com/thedelilahsch
Bit of a strange day today, not much time for photos so I’ll end up with a picture of the bus
Nice isn’t it?
Well Well Well
A busy day, not much time for photos.
So, I’ll drop some old ones in to fill the space
Here’s “Disco” Dave and his Disco Ball
“Disco” Dave is a legend in the world of sound. His skills at heidin’ the disco ball are famed far and wide.
This is Shanghai
Shanghai, as you probably know, has got nothing whatsoever to do with Parkhead, in the East end of Glasgow, apart from it smells.
Hello there,
Day off, hurrah
First up, find the nearest tube, buy the day travel pass, then phone photo the station sign
No danger of us getting lost abroad
Train incoming
Down by the Danube a bit of street art
The Danube, as you may know is twinned with the Clyde, and in paticular, the section of the Clyde which devides the Green, in Glasgow’s East End from Polmadie
The Turtle was placed here by the good townsfolk of Bridgeton, in the East End of Glasgow, to commemorate the famous Battle of Polmadie Bridge, where the “Generator Man”, sybolised by the Turtle, held off local Polmadie youth for two hours to allow the showing of “Saturday Night Fever” on a large outdoor screen, July the 30th, 1546
The lines of transport make their way through town
My Dinner
Vienna has much to offer on a day off, contrary to what Jim “the Bus” would have you believe
It has Monuments
It has a funfair, I went out for a quiet night time stroll on the river and ended up at the funfair
And Nightlife, No Jim “the Bus” everything does not shut at twelve, the Fluc club for instance stays open till four. they are on myspace, by the way. http://www.myspace.com/flucvienna If you are in town, looking for a night out look em up.
With quality Metal
And underground some pish cheese trance gig involving lots of bicycles, not just one Dan, lots of them, plenty of em. If it’s a bicycle you seek, there here, in a bunker at the Praterstrasse in Vienna, thousands of em.
With those “Visuals” thingies as well
Home to bed. well after midnight Jim “the Bus”, well after midnight, after a wonderful day in a magical city. Good night Vienna.
Ah Munich! Twin town with Dalmarnock in the East End of Glasgow
The Atomic Cafe’ is our port of call today. Named, as you will no doubt be aware, after Joseph “Atomic” Dalmarnock, inventor of the stroboscopic lamp in 1723. Jo was a regular visitor to Munich’s fair city, a frequent frequentor of the Bier Kellors. In fact it was during a particularly active evening down bier strasse that the idea of the strobe came to him in a blinding flash of inspiration. He made his mark, and returned to found the massive strobe factories that were to give Dalmarnock, in Glasgow’s East End, it’s name.
Gig Art
Yes, it’s weird.
What do you make of it Rusty?
How about a bit of dead art, Rusty? Is this more up your Strasse?
Try this, then, a brand new contest. It’s called street art, but, instead of you judging it, though, it’s going to be down to the team out here with me.
It will be announced, along with the others, in London on the thirteenth of May. Can’t wait, marvelous.
Tonight’s Dinner
Tommorow is a day off, as if we need one, eh?
Hello again,
Today we are in Berlin
Berlin, as you know is twinned with Denistoun, in the east end of Glasgow, and also with Tooting, in London. But more of that later. Firstly the most important event of the the day, super Isright gave me a brand new coat.
Isn’t it lovely? Am I not lucky? Wonderful!!!
Today’s Gig Art
I’ve decided to run a competition for the best “Gig Art” of the tour. Today’s entry is internally lit!!! Contained within the glass is a series of stringy things all lit up with wires and stuff. I was stunned. It’s got to be a contender.
Here’s Johnny
He loved it.
Not so impressed are the dudes waiting for something important to happen
Today’s Dinner
As with the “Gig art” I am running a contest for “Dinner of the Tour”. Cast your votes at the end. It’s going to outdo X Factor I reckon with viewers tactically voting.
So back to the “Twinning Conection”. Like Berlin, Dennistoun in the east end of Glasgow has a Lido Theatre. Glasgow’s is a touch blue, and I’m not talking football here you know. St Dennis, the patron Saint and inventor of the cineamatic electric projector is said to have passed by Berlin on his way to a papal visit in 1672, letting slip the secret of film to the media starved locals whilst round the pole. Tooting, on the other hand, has a swimming pool. Not much of a story that, Johnny.
Hello, we arrived this morning in Bocham after a 1am pickup on the M25 services at South Mimms. A straightforward rig, the advance sheets had been noted and acted on. The new backdrops have not arrived. Bit of a mystery.
We console ourselves with a quick coffee
Isright TM Espresso machine
Gig Art? it’s universal and unique?
Time for tea, look mum, I’m eating very well
This is me, happy to be in Bocham
Bocham, as you probably know already, is twinned with the Calton area in Glasgow’s East End. In actual fact the gig we are in tonight is named “Visions” after the world famous Karaoke bar on the Gallowgate. Drop by Visions in Glasgow when you are next in town and mention Bocham, you’re sure to get a response.
